In the post-Roloson era, Rick DiPietro of the New York Islanders managed to stay healthy for all of 25 hockey minutes.

The "franchise" goaltender tweaked his groin and had to leave the ice nearly mid-way through Monday's 5-2 win over the Calgary Flames. Fortunately, backup Nathan Lawson did a stellar job as his replacement in his second career NHL game. The Isles just traded veteran netminder Dwayne Roloson to the Tampa Bay Lightning on the weekend.

At this stage, DiPietro's injury doesn't appear to be all that serious: "It was a little tweak and I'll be back as soon as possible," the goalie told Newsday. But Isles coach Jack Capuano hinted they'll call up an emergency backup, regardless. Three games remain on the team's current road trip.

If DiPietro's injury is truly not all that serious, the Islanders will make do by using Lawson heavily in the next three games. If the tweak is more than just that, hey, Michael Leighton was just placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers.

It's an idea, at any rate.
