Devils acquire Ponikarovsky from canes

The New Jersey Devils reportedly have acquired forward Alexei Ponikarovsky from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for minor-league defenseman Joseph Sova and a fourth-round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.

He scored yesterday in his first game with the Devils. This looks like it could be the start of the rebuilding phase for Carolina; Flyers could be interested in a guy like Gleason or Allen to bolster the blue line a little bit if they can't make a move for a bigger name or if they would rather just wait until the offseason.
