after having a debate with some falcon fans i decided to make a poll with some unbiased fans. the question isn't who is the better reciever, but the better all around player. you have to think about route running, hands, yac, drops, run blocking and things like that.

41 career games - 215 receptions - 3,000 yards - 14 ypc - long of 86 - 24 career td's - 1 fumble lost

11 games - 6 starts - 47 receptions - 760 yards - 16 ypc - 5 td - 8 drops - targeted 88 times (played entire season with broken finger)

64 career games - 230 receptions - 3,536 yards - 15 ypc - long of 70 - 16 career td's - 5 fumble lost

16 games - 15 starts - 88 receptions - 1,382 yards - 16 ypc - 7 td - 9 drops - targeted 148 times

i personally think marques is the better player, not by much though. he runs much better routes, his hands beat roddy's by a mile (don't let marques drops fool you, you played with a broken thumb all season) and i'd say marques is more powerful after the catch. white is a decent run blocker, but colston has him on that one by a long shot. marques is a top 3 run blocking reciever in the nfl. the only better may be hines ward. i'd say white is more explosive and has more speed, not by much though. colston stands at 6-4, while white stands at 6 even.

colston is also the best wr through their first 2 or 3 years in nfl history

little more insight:

white- targeted 9 times per game - 6 catches a game - 86 yards - 14 ypc - .4 td per game - 1 drop per game

colston- targeted 8 times per game - 4 catches a game - 69 yards - 17 ypc - .5 td per game - 1 drop per game

since colston rookie year:

colston- 73 ypg - 5 catches a game - .6 td per game

white- 64 ypc - 4 catches a game - .3 td per game

not to mention, colston has been the best reciever in nfl history during their first two or three years. that includes jerry rice, tim brown, and all the other greats.

Colston is more athletic than White. He can go up and get it, but sometimes he doesnt come through in the big games.

i think that has more to do with marques being 6-4. i disagree, he always comes through during the "big games"

and it was colstons thumb, not pinky. which is the most important finger on your hand for a reciever.

Its close, but Colston is better. Better ball control, a bigger threat in the endzone, similar YPC between the two.

thank you, it amazes me how unknown marques is. if you go by the numbers, you have to go with marques. and that doesn't include the areas he is better in, catching, blocking, route running, all that good stuff.

8 more touchdowns in 23 less games too.

Marques Colston is much more known than Roddy White.

And it doesn't seem like YOU know what a big game is... To me, anything besides playoffs or week 16/17 aren't.

If you're going to pick a fight with me because of your vendetta, then at least know what the <Censored> you are talking about... He said Colston plays well in big games, and I simply said that he hasn't played in a single one in his career.

i guess the 06 division playoffs and nfccg game aren't big games? and games when you basically lose and your season is done aren't big either? come on now...

that would mean colston has played in 5 or 6 big games in his career.

and no, colston is VERY unknown. that i can prove by the wide range of nfl sites i am apart of. most know colston, but they think he is a scrub, until i have to explain.

so your gonna judge him on 2 playoff games? two playoff games when he was a ROOKIE and a SEVENTH round draft pick? really man? NOBODY knew him at the time, he wasn't even the saints #1 reciever at the time!

i don't know about you, but i'd take that out of a #2 reciever.

lets take a look at some more numbers:

07
@ atl- saints win or go home...he comes away with 9 catches for 92 yards.
vs ari- saints win or go home...he comes away with 8 catches for 114 yards.

08
gb- saints win or go home...he comes away with 1 catch for 70 yards. this was his first game back from injury.
@ tb- saints win or go home...he comes away with 6 catches for 106 yards. saints lost, end their playoff hopes.

but he also finished that season with 6 and 84...9 and 99...7 and 123. and 5 td's in those 5 games.

Keep contradicting yourself -- clutch, but sucks in 2 playoff games. Clutch, but can't win any games at the end of the regular season?

I'm not going to say he isn't good - that would be stupid... But what Roddy White did last year with no QBs, and his overall talent is something I'd take over Colston.

TBH, cp3 it looks you are being a bit biased when it comes to colston, idk if it's just me

But anyway, I think I'll give it to Roddy by little based on what he did this year..when you actually have a QB, who throws it most of the time, instead of taking off and running.
