Well I know it's not the best and I know I could use some work, but this is only my third try at cutting, so bear with me.

Layer Defringe wasn't working for some reason, but I definitely could have done that I'm sure. And I forgot to put it on a transparent background. I think it's too late to do that though...?

Anyways here it is:

Yeah, there's still some of the background on his shoulders and the top of his head. This quality of the picture itself isn't that great either. But that's besides the point, this is a descent cut.

this is a pretty decent cut for only your third try. just cut in a little bit deeper so that you can get rid of the background

your transitions are actually pretty good - that's usually a toughie for most beginners.

also try using the circular marquee tool to cut the balls -- makes a better rounded edge.

i use layer-matte-defringe-1 to help rid myself of excess bg that's left... then Trim to get rid of the excess transparent BG

good job - keep practicing
