Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is the fourth member of the American League's Home Run Derby team, it was announced Tuesday.
Cespedes has 15 homers in 291 at-bats this season and averages 408.5 feet per homer, per Home Run Tracker. Cespedes joins AL captain Robinson Cano, defending derby champion Prince Fielder and MLB home run leader Chris Davis.
Detroitnews.com reports that Cano had hoped that Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera would join his team, but Cabrera's going to pass due to his back soreness. The NL team is Michael Cuddyer, Bryce Harper, NL home run leader Carlos Gonzalez and captain David Wright.
The Home Run Derby will take place at 8 p.m. Monday on ESPN.
