NFL.com - Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was named the top player in the NFL today in a countdown voted on by the players for the NFL Network.

Despite his No. 1 ranking, a spot ahead of Colts signal-caller Peyton Manning, Brady feels the Indianapolis star belongs ahead of him.

"To me, he's the greatest of all time," Brady told NFL Network.

"He's a friend of mine, and someone that I always watch and admire, because he always wants to improve, he always wants to get better, and he doesn't settle for anything less than the best. So, when you watch the best and you're able to learn from the best, hopefully that helps me get better."

Modest indeed.
He knows he's the best, he's just telling everyone what we want to hear.
Can't blame him for not being arrogant.

Brady makes everyone around him better, more so than Manning, which makes him the better QB imo.
Passing wise they're pretty much a saw off.

Everybody here knows Tom Brady > Peyton Manning. And I'm sure a lot of us might take Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees over Peyton Manning.

At this stage in careers, I think I would take Rodgers > Manning, but not Brees.

Give me Joe Montana ;)

But Tom Brady is being modest but he knows where Peyton stands among the all time greats.

Right now I'd give it to Brady no doubt though.

1. Joe Montana
2. Tom Brady
3. Marino
4. Peyton

thats how I see it. If Marino won a ring, he'd be #1.

1093-1635 / 66.9% completion / 13,104 yards / 114 TD's / 25 INT's / 108.1 QB rating

Brady's numbers over his last three active seasons. That's ridiculous, that's video game type numbers.

One of the greatest three year runs ever? Brady is #1.

lets see

Peyton Manning's best statistical passing season: 2004.

Notables on offense he had: Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Edgerrin James

Tom Brady's best statistical passing season: 2007

Notables on offense he had: Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Ben Watson, Laurence Maroney

Brady's stats in 07>Peyton's stats in 04.
Yet, Peyton's 04 roster>>> Brady's 07 roster

That's not what he said, at all. He said in a flat out sense that Brady has the skills to make everyone around him better, which isn't true at all over Peyton. Manning has every capability to make his teammates better and he showed this completely this year. Go ask Blair White and Jacob Tamme, who put up pretty solid numbers in the Colts offense working around Peyton Manning for example.

Here's something to chew on.

Montana has brought his team to the palyoffs with an average defensive ranking of 4.4

Brady has brought his team to the playoffs with an average defensive ranking of 5.6

Manning has brought his team to the playoffs with an average defensive ranking of 12.9

Remember that football is played on two sides of the ball, and you let me know who had the better defense and easier time getting into these positions to succeed.

He said Brady makes his teammates better than Peyton does. Peyton still makes the Whites of the world good, but even look at Deion Branch. Dude was the Super Bowl MVP for the Pats vs PHI, then he gets traded to Seattle and does jack shit. He comes back here, and is great again. Welker's breakout season? 2007, when he joined NE.

Everyone thought Randy Moss was done in 2006, after producing a 500 yard season. Gets traded to NE the next year. Almost 1000 more yards recieving and 20 more TD rec.

David Givens was a solid reciever for NE in 05, but left for Tennessee next year cuz they gave him lot more money than NE did. He was eventually cut by the Titans that year, cuz he could not perform. Never played in the NFL ever again.

He wasn't saying Peyton was bad at all at making his teammates look good, he was just saying Tom Brady was better

Blah.. more Peyton Brady shit... STFU.

Shits annoying by now.

We get it.

Colt fans think Peyton is the king of all kings on the whole wide world.
Pat fans say Brady is the best and his hair is the most flawless thing this world has ever seen.

Meanwhile. Brett Favre dickpicturing ass is better than both of them.
