I personally am not a fan of this move for the Jays.TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays shipped just-acquired Mike Napoli to the Texas Rangers for reliever Frank Francisco and cash on Tuesday.
The right-hander was 6-4 with two saves and a 3.76 earned-run average in 56 relief appearances for the AL West champs last season.
The 31-year-old from Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic had a career high 25 saves in 2009 as the Rangers closer.
In six big-league seasons, all with Texas, Francisco is 17-15 with 32 saves and a 3.75 ERA, including 315 strikeouts and only 237 hits in 283 1/3 innings.
Napoli was only with the Blue Jays for about four days, after being traded Friday from the Los Angeles Angels along with outfielder Juan Rivera in the Vernon Wells deal.
The 29-year-old hit .238 average with a career high 26 home runs and 68 RBIs last season.
