With Brandon Knight falling into the Detroit Pistons’ lap with the eighth pick in the draft, it means that an already crowded backcourt gets even more so. Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press suggests that getting rid of Ben Gordon could be the best way to ease some of that overcrowding. Sharp’s theory is that once the league figures out its new collective bargaining agreement, teams will be allowed to remove one bad contract.
As of right now, Knight and Gordon both have the #7 lol.

I wish he wasn't on that huge contract... I would love to have him back.

Pistons could justify using an amnesty clause on 3 different guys.

Gordon 2yr/23mil left player option for 3rd
Hamilton 2yr/25mil left
Villanueva 2yr/15mil left player option for 3rd

Gordon would be the favorite for amnesty, but you could really take your pick at either as you said

a buyout with rip is still likely. but using it on ben is most likely.

and i wanted him badly. our team just isnt good enough for him to look good and produce. he just has to chuck up bad shots all the time.

it'd only help for the money.

IF they do raise the cap to $65 Million, and we let tayshaun walk, and then waive ben. that would be a good chunk of change.. keep in mind we need to sign stuckey and that may be in the $10-$11 Million a year range. id love for a $7-$8.5 Million range.

add in a rip buyout. we could be looking like a buyer in free agency. these are all big IF's and i expect the worse.

If Stuckey is asking for anything more than $6M or $7M a year I'd let him walk

i think stuckey would look tons better with an upgraded roster. he has to force shots, though its stunting his growth.

I'd rather amnesty waive Charlie to be honest, and buyout Rip.
Gordon is good for something, Charlie sucks at everything lol.
