These 6 QB's are over 30 (projected starters) and have not been to the SB:

Carson Palmer: 36 (Arizona)
Tony Romo: 36 (Dallas)
Phillip Rivers: 34 (San Diego)
Jay Cutler: 33 (Chicago)
Alex Smith: 32 (Kansas City)
Matt Ryan: 31 (Atlanta)

Which one has the best chance of reaching the SB in the next couple years?

Palmer or Romo, neither of which is likely.

Palmer, Romo, Matt Ryan

In that order.

Palmer was one game away last year. The defense in AZ is pretty solid. Romo has a great offense, just 0 defensive help... which is a big problem, and Dan Quinn certainly is turning Atlanta around.

BWare, why is Palmer not likely? They just made the NFCCG last season, and gained a few assets without losing nearly anything

Arians gets in his own way in big games. Like last year, not flying down to Carolina early and adjusting to the time change. By letting Palmer throw them out of the game in the first half despite David Johnson doing well running the ball. Carolina had game planned well for the Cardinals and yet Arians made zero adjustments.

Somehow, some way, Ron Rivera actually out coached another NFL coach in the NFCCG.

Palmer

Does anyone see Alex smith and the Chiefs getting there? Or with another QB? If they can get one before he defense blows up

Tony Romo is by far the best QB of that group.  The issue is the defense.  I'll still say the Cowboys.

Last year is the perfect example of how good Romo really is. The defense was quite good (excellent against the pass, if yoi can believe it) but without Tony the Cowboys couldn't even score touchdowns on offense.

If Romo plays even 14 games last year the Cowboys run away with the East.
