if we're playing the healthy card, the nets ARE better.

Better forwards? Where? Pierce isn't better than Parsons anymore. He's not quite as done as Garnett, but he's done. Maybe 2 years ago, and who the hell is even their PF, right now? Not somebody who's better than Jones.

I'd back up Bware's claim of the Rockets being better but he disowned me and won't respond to me anymore.

OH WELL

I think you're both wrong technically.

The Nets have been better since Brook got hurt and it's no coincidence that it came when they moved KG to the 5 (where he excelled the past few years with Boston). Paul Pierce has been playing the 4 and doing it fairly well too.

The notion that the better team always wins, especially in the NBA, is incredibly wrong. The Nets are playing much better basketball than the Rockers these days.

Rockets are better than Nets even when healthy.

The Nets would win a 7 game series.

The whole "the nets are better without brook" is cute and all but the fact is that we needed time to mesh. Nothing more. We didn't know each others tendencies, how to rotate on D, etc. We would be even better with him.

I'm not trying to suggest that Brook can't make the Nets a better team, but I do think they're better playing small like they are now. If that means bringing KG off the bench (in a world where they're presumably healthy), fine. But I don't think a KG/Brook front line helps

I forgot brook lopez existed

I read pugz's "better offensive center" comment and automatically assumed KG and took it as a shot towards dwight lol

The Nets have been playing as well as anybody except maybe the Spurs since January 1st. I think it's a toss up.

I could agree it's a toss up, but give me Houston over Brooklyn.

The Nets bench is significantly better than Houston's, but I also think Houston's starting lineup is clearly superior to New Jersey.

Brooklyn plays their bench the 2nd most minutes of any team in the NBA, while Houston is tied for 29th. Brooklyn's bench may be better, but that's kind of neutralized.

Which is part of the reason I think Houston is better

Pretty interesting data I just read about tanking. A team that finishes a season with a 24-29% win percentage is actually the most likely to build a winning team. A team that finishes with a 30-35% win percentage is the least likely to least likely to build a winning team.
