Some people are just way too naive.

They see the Red Sox come in 3rd, and fire their manager. OH, THEY MUST DO WORSE THEN!
wrong.

On September 1st, we had the 2nd best record in baseball, 1st in the AL. We had a 9 game lead on the Wild Card. We had one of, if not the worst collapses in MLB history. Just 27 terrible day later, TB clinched a playoff spot.

To say Boston will come in 4th, is childish.

The Red Sox #4 starter... Felix Doubront. Alfredo Aceves is closing. Ryan Sweeney, Mike Aviles (or Nick Punto), and Saltalamacchia are all starting. Carl Crawford is hurt and sucks now too. Really won't be surprised if the Bjays are better this year.

We won it all in 09 with a worse pitching staff and an incredibly similar offense.

You would have to be an idiot to count out the Yankees.
That was 3 years ago, A-rod and Jeter arent what they used to be. Jorge Posada hit 22 HR's and 81 RBI's. Russell Martin wont hit that well. Im not buying into the Yankees hype this year. I dont like their pitching whatsoever and great pitching usually trumps great hitting.

Then you look at the Blue Jays rotation and their #3, 4, and 5 guys all suck and their lineup is nothing to write home about.

A-Rod is the same exact player he was three years ago, Jeter is worse but still very good for a SS. Russell Martin came close enough to those numbers last year for it to not make a difference, especially when you consider how much better he is behind the plate than an old Jorge was.

lol you obviously haven't Henderson Alvarez pitch. He doesn't strike a whole lot of people but his stuff is really good. Our 4 (Carreno),5 (Drabek) guys are young but they don't suck. Our lineup isn't the best on paper but if the young guys can contribute, I think that lineup can be good.

You're right but man it would be so nice if they made the playoffs this year.

Doubrunt ≥ Jays #4 starter
Our 1-2-3 rotation > theirs

Aceves is solid, and is only their due to injury. Melancon is a very nice SU too.

Cody Ross, not Sweeney is the starting RF. CC is out a bit, so Sweeney prolly starts in LF for the opener, but he's a solid backup LH.
Aviles will be a solid .260-.280 hitter.

Arencibia is no better offensively than Salty is.

Ortiz >> Encarnacion
Gonzalez>>>> Lind

Their only advantage they have is RF and SS. How are they any better than us?

lol wut how is Doubront better than the Jays #4? Both are inexperienced and haven't proved anything in the majors at all. Your 1-2-3 may be better but what if Buccholz doesn't return to 2010 form? And without Andrew Bailey plus your bullpen is atrocious except Bard. Not saying Jays are better on paper but I really don't see them finishing 1st in the AL East.
