clone tool on photoshop lets you copy parts of the cut. for instance, if you clone the edges, it helps get rid of the excess bg that defringe doesn't solve

LOL - been cutting for 3 years now. plus, I have dark skin as my base - it doesn't show up on a light BG..

looks good - I don't mind the artist logo, but to put in our gallery, we need it to be on our server via the Uploader and an accompanying void

try rounding off his hair on right some.. also, I see a tad of bg on his shorts (his right leg)

I think if you softly erased the filtered layer and added some glowing edges, desat then colored- this would look even better
