Haha I'm messing with you man, I'm a Bengals fan too. That being said, although I think Hobson's a decent writer, his draft-day predictions historically have been pretty off base and generally just kinda random, and not necessarily indicative of any kind of inside information.
Anything remotely associated with the Bengals is stupid. Therefore, this is stupid.
And Kam, ya gotta keep in mind that 98% of the dudes doing mocks aren't really familiar with the situations of each team, and Kerrigan is rated at around that area, so it's easy and convenient for lazy mockers...
I'm a Bengals fan, and I've often been critical of the general tendency of teams to strictly go BPA. I think teams need to be cognizant of needs, but not take inferior players in order to fill needs. There needs to be a balance.
However, this plan, and strictly slotting things based on round...
I think from a mental standpoint and an offense concern the best comparison is Tebow or Alex Smith. From a physical build standpoint it's probably Roethlisberger (I think his throwing ability is also similar). From an athleticism standpoint it's probably Vince Young.
I think I have a different understanding of what the issue is then. I thought Ingram had concerns of arthritis, but Bowers was simply coming off a meniscus tear.
Except Smith was a horrendously lazy and complacent fuckface, and wasn't a good leader at all. He's admitted to that. Newton's a great leader and whatever issues you see with his pro game, that's fine, but their personalities and other intangibles are nowhere near comparable. Again, the concerns...
The contexts in which I've seen his intelligence questioned have nothing to do with the off-field shit, it's about his ability to handle and offense. There's a big difference between immature arrogance and lacking the mental capacity to comprehend an offense, they're entirely different issues...
All the concerns with Oregon are legitimate, but I think that the concerns up front on offense are a bigger issue. They lose Bair and Clark at DT, but Ricky Heimuli is stepping in there and he's been compared to a young Haloti Ngata, and Taylor Hart is pretty similar to Clark. They lose Kenny...
