So far: they missed Liriano (#17) who beat out #12 Wainwright, and they really fucked up Stroman (#23) who crushed Archer (#14).
That said, I'll still with Kershaw at #1.
Might have something to do with the inevitable change in weather, specifically temperatures. It's in the low 40's in Pittsburgh as we speak, and it may take time to adjust arms to the colder weather.
Got no skin in the game today (so to speak) because the Cubs are still in exhibition vs. the Angels and the Red Sox open tomorrow in Cleveland.
That said, I am excited for another season to begin.
Cubs (A-) did well, especially since they didn't have much to do except bolster the outfield (Jason Heyward) and add one more decent middle-of-the-rotation starting pitcher (Lackey).
Zobrist is a timely addition as no one is really sure yet that Baez can consistently hit big-league pitching...
Trout was clearly the better of the two.
I mean he won 88 games (lost 92) and put together a 19.5 WAR over 12 years in the majors (that's 1.635 WAR per year -- way more than Harper's 0.93 in his ten-year career, where he posted a mediocre 57-76 record).
