Everyone thinks Greg Cosell is sooooo smart, and pretty much takes what he says over everyone else's. But I looked up what Cosell thought of Andy Dalton last year:

via Pro Football Talk
Peter King of Sports Illustrated and Adam Schefter of ESPN have both publicly predicted that TCU quarterbackAndy Dalton will be a first-round pick on Thursday.

That may be true, but avid game-tape watcher Greg Cosell of NFL Films doesn’t buy Dalton as more than a middle-round talent.

Specifically, Cosell sees Dalton as a fourth-rounder.

“He won’t go there. He’ll go higher,” conceded Cosell in an interview with the Sacramento Bee. “But he doesn’t throw it very well. He doesn’t spin it very well. He’s a guy you’ll have to camouflage. He needs a strong running game to be successful.”

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora recently released a mock draft that sent Dalton to the Titans with the eighth overall pick. Among draftniks, other popular landing spots for the 50-game college starter include Jacksonville at No. 16 and Seattle at 25.

Just thought this was really interesting, to come from pretty much the most respected draft guy.

Even the best draft analyst is wrong about guys, looking at his opinion on one guy and making your opinion on him is quite possibly the dumbest thing anyone could do.

I think Andy Dalton is just going to be a decent starter in the NFL, which is obviously better than a 4th round grade, but I don't see much potential in him.

I know. But some people just wait for what he says, and that's their opinion. Like he's the only one that's right and he's always right.

He isn't though.

You seriously think Dalton should have been a 4th round pick?
Also, the Bengals had no rushing game last year like he said Dalton would need.

He said he won't go in the fourth, he'll go higher - right on the money.

They were 10th in rushing attempts, so clearly they were trying to protect him as much as possible.

He had 212 yards per game, let's not make it seem like he was a super stud who should be viewed as a bonafide franchise QB. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the Bengals were looking to replace him within the next 3-5 years. Personally, I think his ceiling is a league average QB or slightly above average.

Why exactly is this a thread? You're really that bitter that you posted his evaluation of a player from last year? C'mon.

You looked completely into this topic, making up my intent in your head. And the fact the Dalton had one of the best rookie QB seasons in NFL history doesn't account for anything? And what does rushing attempts mean? Who the fuck cares, they were 27th in YPA, so it's not like it was some lethal weapon that opened up passing lanes for him. And you don't think having 20 TD's to 13 INT's as a rookie is avg? He's going to improve, everyone does.
