The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a six-year deal with right-hander Zack Greinke, according to multiple reports.

Financial terms of the contract are still unknown.

The news comes shortly after FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported the Diamondbacks were aggressively pursuing Greinke to headline their inexperienced rotation.

6/195 is the winner
32.5 aav wow

Dodgers offered a very fair 5/155 or 31 aav

So arizona got him for an extra 40mil for 1 year
Yeah have him. And have fun killing your payroll flexibility on age 32-37 seasons for a guy with lingering elbow issues the past few years

Dodgers ceo, stan kasten said "pitchers break" a few years ago and that they want to buil from within
Theyre stucking to it

Dodgers will be fine. Zack doesnt even move the needle thst much for Arizona. But i understand theyre not done, neither is any team

Depending on what the deferrals are, it might not be that bad. Like half of Schezer's contract was deferred.

Doubt this is to that extent, but could drastically lower the present value.

it burns. especially staying in division. i knew ben was leaving and i was fine with it but when he actually did it sucked. it means more when the player helps your team win like zach was.

dont get me wrong that money is a huge difference but it sucks still

it doesnt burn that he went to arizona. Who cares?
It wouldve hurt if he went to the giants

That contract is too big. I Saw this coming for like past 2 years. And especially as this season unfolded. Heck I've been saying it here

Im totally fine

The average is still nearly the same.

And since when are the Dodgers on this money saving high horse?

they could outbid them if they want
Its not a good baseball deal. They can have him

Just cause the dodgers have a ton of money doesnt mean they need to use it every single time
They dont want too many long term commitments
