The Yankees are the early favorite to sign left-hander C.J. Wilson as a free agent this winter.

Many believe Wilson is keen on New York, who will likely be looking for a starting pitcher this offseason.

Do not want.

He's going to want AJ Burnett/John Lackey money and he won't live up to it.

2.94 ERA, 206 strkeouts in 223 innings, I'd gladly take him. Not to mention he pitches in Texas.

They can do better. Like others have said, for the money he would want, I don't think it would be worth it. I mean, he wouldn't be a bad addition at all, but it depends on the price and I'm rather certain he will want good money. I guess it would be a start for them to shape up that rotation.

Wilson would be a welcome addition to the rotation for sure. He's quietly been a top 7 or so pitcher in the AL the past two years, pitching in Arlington... I'll take it. Also, having two lefties at the top of the rotation would be pretty nasty.

His road ERAs last two years: 2.91 and 2.31.

Going to be 31 next month, will command a 5 year deal, has only been a starter for two seasons, doesn't pitch nearly as well in Texas as he does on the road (Yankee Stadium is just as much of a hitter's park).

"They can do better" is not true... Name a better pitcher on the FA market.

Since when does money matter in New York?
Since we're going to have A-Rod, Tex, and CC locked into massive deals that they won't be worth, on top of the massive extension Cano should get during the length of his contract. Despite popular belief, we don't have an unlimited budget.

Well apparently if NY is going to pursue Wilson, you guys seemingly do have an unlimited budget.

There's some good pitchers on that list, it's not like they don't have any other options. Wilson sticks out, but there's some good pitchers on that list.

CJ Wilson is the only guy on that list who is a capable #1 or #2 starter, other then Wainwright, who has an option that will most certainly be accepted by the Cards. CC as well but he will be back in NY.

Perfect #2 starter to any contending team. Also less riskier than signing a guy like Yu Darvish imo.

Aren't the Yankees always favorites to sign good free agents?
