According to an NBA GM, a major reason why the Miami Heat haven't been able to move forward Shawn Marion is because teams believe he'll want a long-term deal in the offseason. The GM said teams would rather wait until this summer and hope his price ($17.8 million this season) drops.

I understand why teams would stay away, he hasnt done much of anything since he left the Suns.

But my dream of him coming to NY has died since D'Antoni took a subtle shot at him.

I think any team would benefit from his prescence though. He's still one of the most versatile players in the league and he could be a key piece to a team looking to win. Screw salary.
