The only reason Flip has gotten teams to the ECFs is because he was provided with a roster that couldn't fail.

2003-04 - T'Wolves bring in Sprewell and Cassell, T'Wolves get 1st seed, get demolished in WCFs.
2005-06 - Pistons back-to-back trips to Finals, best record in the regular season, lose in ECFs.
2006-07 - Pistons #1 seed in East, lose in ECFs.

Other than that, he's never made it out of the first round. Van Gundy had two good seasons with Miami, and started off the season where they won it all. You can say whatever you want, but you have to give us coaching, because SVG is a much better coach than Saunders...

You can't say anything about Stan Van, he hasn't proved anything cause he hasn't done anything yet. If he would of stayed that one year maybe he would of proved something, but he didn't stay so he DIDN'T prove anything. We will talk if he gets your team out of the first round... Flip hasn't proved he's a great coach, but he has brought teams to the ECF and WCF, so he proved more than what SVG has.

even though i dislike the Pistons I have to go with them, Orlando is just young, they ought to be better than Detroit in the next few years.

Yea thats true.
But then we'll be good again when our young players develop or when we get some other players.

Rip, SVG got the Heat to the 2nd round the year where there team was like -

PG - Dwyane Wade
SG - Eddie Jones
SF - Caron Butler
PF - Lamar Odom
C - Brian Grant.

And then got the Heat to the ECFs the next season. He hasn't proven anything?

I voted Detroit because the all the MAgic have is Rashard, Dwight, and Jameir. They dont have enough role players ad depth. And the Pistons are WAY more experienced.

Butler was second in voting for ROY the year before.

That was the year Dwayne Wade showed everyone that he was a superstar in the playoffs. He outplayed Baron Davis to get to the 2nd round.

He was the leader of that team as a rookie, and he showed in the playoffs why he was better than LBJ.

Brian Grant was a very good defensive player and hustler. He's fallen off the map, but he was starting material that year.

Lamar Odom was playing like an all-star.

I like Stan Van Gundy as a coach, but let's not overrate him by making the Heat look bad.
