I've never followed NHL too much, to be honest. I've done work out in Long Island and met Charles Wang a few times at gigs we did and he's a really good guy, which is hard to find with billionaires. Anyway, from what I've read from other sites, Islanders fans seem divided about Wang. One half says he's not like the Wilpons and wasn't afraid to spend money to try and make the team successful, but the other half say he didn't care about the team and only bought it to make money, but he was never able to get the funding or approval for his big plans, so it never worked out. It would have been nice seeing the coliseum re-built, with a whole tourist hub around it. I've never been to an Islanders home game, but that would have convinced me to go because at least there would have been shit to do there before the game started.
