As expected, 1 day after the Magic acquired Vince Carter, Hedo Turkoglu opted out of the final year of his contract. with the team.

Due $7.3M next season, the remainder of a 6 year/$36M deal, Turkoglu will now hit the open market in search of a major pay day. The Turkish forward will most likely seek out a deal worth about $10M per, a price tag the Magic admittedly won't be able to hit, now with Carter on the payroll.

The Agent of Turkoglu, Lon Babby, did say he Magic passed off an early offer...and offer that Magic GM Otis Smith described as a "jumping off point".

So how long before Turkoglu gets his Pistons payday? -AE

If we sign him, I'm done.

Really, if we do I will not support the Pistons until he's gone.

We don't need him, and he's not a PF. Why sign him if we still have Tay or even Rip?

I have no idea what direction the Pistons are going in now...but he would of been ideal for the squad you had prior to the "Allen Iverson disaster" (which is what I will call it).

I am with Pugz though, giving Turkoglu $10M-plus per to be really good for 1 quarter out of 4 isn't cost effective to me either. The guy is way too streaky and lets be honest, the Pistons aren't going to win the finals within the next 2 seasons...so what is Hedo 3 years from now?

he could help a lot of teams out wherever he goes....will be interesting....this FA is very underrated because everyone has been talking about 2010

He's also 30, I'd be fine if he didn't want so much. But Hedo wants like 10+, screw that.

that really sucks for detoit.
sign 1 maybe, then go for gold next off season IMO

Booz and Hedo dont do anything for that team. Detroit would be around 48 wins, and probably 5th best in the east

Boozer play Center, pfft.
I don't care about Booz, he grew on me. I even like Hedo, but I don't want him on my team.

This off-season is going to kill me, I may need to re-up on NBA League Pass so I can catch Orlando games.
