Tebow delay? Broncos extend Orton one year

Broncos signed QB Kyle Orton to a one-year, $9 million contract extension through 2011.
The deal includes $5.5 million in guarantees. This is a much deserved reward for Orton's excellent training camp as well as an acknowledgment that he's light years ahead of Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn in coach Josh McDaniels' offense. It's no longer safe to assume that Tebow will take over the offense late in the season, and he may be a year and a half to two years from seeing the starting lineup. Not really a "Tebow delay", we all know he isn't going to start on opening day. As of right now, Orton is the man and they got him locked up, nothing earth shattering.

He's an average QB.. That's about it really. He started out great last year but then came back down to earth, and put up average numbers in the last 10 games of the year.
