Now, there's a question whether he'll be able to come back from another injury-plagued season.

Possibly with his health situation, he might not be able to play anymore," said former Mavs coach Avery Johnson, now with ESPN. "Maybe his body can't hold up anymore on this level." If McGrady returns, Johnson sees him moving to another team. "Even though he's owed $22 million (actually $23.2 mil), I don't see him suiting up again in Houston. That deal has run its course."

Its a shame that he may have to hang it up very soon. I remember a time when he was considered to be at a level of Kobe, Duncan, Garnett, or even Nowitzki.

He's already been quoted saying he doesn't wanna pla that much longer, but I too don't see him staying in Houston.

Considered? From 01-04 he was at the level of those guys. Its sad to see this.

The sad part is that t-mac and vc both had more natural ability than kobe. But they didnt have the hunger and heart of kobe.

T-Mac is also one of my favorite players. So it's going to be sad to see him retire this early.

Though it's not worth getting injured again.

Always been one of my favorite players, still have a Magic T-Mac jersey hanging in my closet. He probably would be the best player in the NBA if he never had injuries, a great talent but couldn't catch a break with these injuries.

I agree that he'd be the best without them injuries, hope he doesn't retire but I can see why he would.

Can't see him retiring after this season. He'll give at least another shot, will be a shell of his former self, and will probably have to retire soon. Don't want to see him go, one of the most explosive players ever in his prime.

This does stink for him...hopefully he will be able to have at least 1 semi-injury-free season...
