Im gonna try something kind of, but not really new.

In this thread you can post trade rumors, signings, and releases. Whether their articles or just something you heard. I would also like to see members post trades they think should happen, maybe using ESPN's trade checker:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trademachine

But Please keep them realistic.

If it slows down the thread Ill remove it, but we'll see how it works until then...

Curry To Be Traded?

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News predicts that the Knicks will trade Eddy Curry this season. Mike D'Antoni told the media that Curry will not be in the rotation when the season starts. Curry was "surprised and upset" when reporters informed him of the coach's decision.

Rookie Danilo Gallinari, who did not play in the pre-season due to a back injury, will be part of D'Antoni's regular rotation and is expected to get minutes in the opener. Malik Rose and Stephon Marbury are also expected to play Wednesday.

I would rather move Curry then Randolph at this point, its obvious he doesnt care about becoming one of the leagues top big men. Hopefully we can find some suitors.

You might have read in some of the New York papers that the Pistons were keeping an eye on the Knicks to see how Zach Randolph fits with Mike D'Antoni's system. The presumption being that if the Knicks look to move Zach, the Pistons would be interested.

Trust me, the Pistons are not interested -- not now, not later. The Pistons' scouts have known Zach for a long, long time and they know his talents and warts as well as anybody. Bottom line: There's too much baggage and too much contract for the Pistons to take that risk. -- The Detroit News

# According to a report in Newsday, the Cavaliers are supposedly "monitoring" Knicks power forward Zach Randolph, who has been solid in the preseason.

Rumors cropped up over the summer between the two teams. One of the reasons the Knicks would like to move Randolph's contract is so they can clear cap space for the summer of 2010. That's when Cavs forward LeBron James becomes a free agent (assuming he opts out of his contract).

But it's also the same reason the Cavs want to keep financial flexibility for that summer. They want to be able to re-sign James and possibly add another big-time talent. That's why the rumors don't add up. -- The News-Herald

Nuggets To Look At Marbury
Stephon Marbury | Knicks
The Nuggets are expected to take a long look at disgruntled point guard Stephon Marbury if he's waived by New York, a move many expect. The New York Post reported Marbury worked out last summer in Los Angeles with Nuggets assistant Tim Grgurich. -- Rocky Mountain News

Sam Smith, who has retired from the Chicago Tribune, is now writing a column for the Website of the team he covered for many years, the Chicago Bulls. In this installment (way down at the end), Sam’s reporting that the Trail Blazers have offered Travis Outlaw for Memphis point guard (and old Greg Oden teammate) Mike Conley. Sam seems to think that’s not enough to get Conley but I’d say it’s more than enough.

Conley hasn’t played a minute during the fourth quarters of his team’s last two games. The coaching staff in Memphis seems to favor Kyle Lowry at crunch time. And Memphis won’t take Travis Outlaw — a guy who beat the Grizzlies in Memphis at the buzzer last season – for a point guard the coaches won’t use in the fourth quarter?

By the way, maybe this is why Travis was pushed into the starting lineup at the last minute ahead of Nicolas Batum. Was it showcase time?

Lowry and Crittenton > Conley IMO

Good trade for both teams though, moving Outlaw would open up space for Batum. Conley gets to play with Oden, and they're chemsitry is unreal. Would help in the development in both players.

Memphis helps solve their problem at the PG position (it being so stacked) and pick up a solid 6th man/ potential starter in Outlaw

Yeah, I just read that.. They say he may be going to New Orleans. I wonder if the Thunder would want more than just Mike James though...

It wouldn't surprise the Magic to hear from the Sacramento Kings at the February trade deadline. They apparently have been a fairly constant suitor for former King Hedo Turkoglu the past few years.

Magic General Manager Otis Smith said the Kings have been interested in reacquiring Turkoglu "ever since he left" Sacramento after it dealt him to San Antonio in 2003. The Kings drafted Turkoglu in the first round in 2000, making him the first Turkish-born player to reach the NBA.

Smith said the Kings have been in touch with Orlando since the Magic signed him as a free agent in 2004. He said it has been a while since the Kings made some offers for Turkoglu, and added, laughing, "They wanted to give us their trash."

Turkoglu can become a free agent this summer by utilizing an option in his six-year $36 million contract.

Kaman, Mobley Trade Talk
Now that Marcus Camby (double-figure rebounding last two games) is nearing full strength, the 1-6 Clippers are open to a rational market trade for Chris Kaman who has battened down their middle for five seasons and is owed $43 million over four seasons.

Sources say Charlotte has no one of consequence Los Angeles desires. Gerald Wallace has no appeal. Mike Dunleavy has been there, done that with Corey Maggette, and solemnly swears by Al Thornton. Therefore, the search is on for a team prepared to deal an extraneous or unwanted macho forward to augment Camby; moving Cutino Mobley ($8.9M/$9.5M) in the process or in a side deal would be cause for great celebration by the Staples Center's stepchild.

The backup plan is to pursue lesser lights like the Nets' Sean Williams. Judging by the 6-10 sophomore's lack of daylight, he's someone the Nets feel they can do nicely without. -- New York Post
Back Hurting Again
Danilo Gallinari | Knicks
Danilo Gallinari's injury had been progressing somewhat, but it appears as if the Italian's health has regressed. Gallinari, who did some of his usual shooting drills during yesterday's light practice, has a sore lower back and is doubtful for Tuesday's game in San Antonio.

"His back is hurting a little bit again," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said after practice. "He was trying to push himself and get ready, but he had a little bit of a setback. So we'll deal with it." -- Newsday

# Rookie Danilo Gallinari did not travel with the Knicks on their two-game road trip, staying behind to have a battery of tests on his back to rule out possible surgery, according to a team source.

The source said an MRI will be among the tests performed on the 20-year-old, who has suffered from a bulging disc since mid-July. -- New York Post
