Adrian Wojnarowski just reported that: "The Houston Rockets fired coach Kevin McHale, league sources tell Yahoo Sports."

The Rockets are one of the best teams on paper in the league, yet they've gotten off to a very rocky start. I'm not sure that this is the right move for them going forward. Thoughts?

Woj is also reporting now that the Rockets are going to name Mike D'antoni as interim head coach.

Woj on why the Rockets decided to fire their head coach: "Houston has tremendous talent, needs to salvage season. That pushed Rockets to make move sooner than later on parting ways with McHale."

Yeah, I just got that notification too. Woj had originally tweeted D'Antoni.

I'd say acquiring Ty Lawson was probably a bad move. They didn't need another person who needs the ball in their hand. Harden was the perfect guy to handle the ball on most occasions.

I'd agree with you on this. It was a great sim-league type move, but I couldn't see it working out in real life haha.

Brian Hill, Stan Van Gundy, Mike D'Antoni, Kevin McHale.

Dwight Howard, putting coaches on the streets since 2003.

If they don't get Thibs or JVG, this was a mistake.

I agree right here. Especially when they have pat beverley coming back soon who fits perfectly in that starting 5. Brings great energy and defense, and that's all you can ask from him being in such an offensive line up

They'd be foolish to sign him

What do Mike Brown, Stan Van Gundy and Kevin McHale have in common?

They were all fired after having winning seasons with Dwight Howard.
