The Washington Redskins will inform quarterback Robert Griffin III on Monday that he will be released, ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini reports.
It's perhaps the greatest inevitability in all of football that Griffin will soon exit the Redskins organization. With a new league year now days away, it appears the team is finally ready to set the second overall pick in 2012 free.
The Redskins reportedly held on this long in hopes that a team would trade for Griffin, but it's apparent that won't happen.
At least 10 teams are rumored to be considering signing Griffin once he becomes available.
