Interesting deal. It is a one year $2 million dollar deal, but with very big incentives to reach $7 million. Could be a steal in that ball park, or could turn out to be a cheap pen option they later release.

It's a low-risk signing, that's for sure. $400k buyout isn't much of a bullet to bite either.

I think I read he's also got a club option for the 2nd year.

Awful for the Mariners, pretty decent for the Cubs. We'll see what he brings, has the potential to get paid real nice though.

He's still got good velocity on his fastball too, so I'm curious how this plays out.
