Pitchers rarely win the MVP award, but ESPN's Buster Olney currently endorses Justin Verlander.

"If I had a vote today, I'd pick Verlander," writes Olney. "No player has made a bigger difference to his team than the right-hander. On the days he has pitched, the Detroit Tigers are 12 games over .500; on the days he hasn't pitched, they are a .500 team."

Don't care what anyone says, a guy who only pitches 30 games out of 162 is not nearly as valuable as a position player who plays everyday.

The pitchers have the Cy Young, leave it at that.

It could be argued that he's not even the most valuable on his team.

so on days he doesnt pitch they're a .500 team
that means they'd still be in first place since no one in the division is .500

i think Verlander should be unanimous Cy Young, but Bautista is MVP

IDK, I kind of factor in the fact the Blue Jays are still a mediocre team with or without Jose.

The Red Sox are still a playoff team without Adrian Gonzalez.

Bautista's numbers are so far ahead of everyone, he's clearly MVP

just because they're in a division with the Yanks and Sox doesnt mean they're mediocre
they're contending in every other division

but where a team places should have no effect on who wins MVP
that is so absurd. i hate that argument

Just playing devil's advocate.
In all likelihood he will probably get it.

Yee.
I should of clarified, though I think Jose deserves it, I believe Adrian will get it.

I don't think Curtis will get it though, cause of his BA.

Who wins the NL MVP? Justin Upton? Prince and Braun probably cancel each other out.

Curtis has what Bautista and A-Gon don't though, speed. Pretty hard to argue with 45 homers and 30 SBs while leading the majors in runs by a long shot and potentially leading the majors in RBIs and HRs.
