The Nets are still on schedule to move to Brooklyn in 2012, but a source familiar with the situation tells the New York Daily News that the team will likely play in Newark the next two seasons.

The franchise has reportedly reached a preliminary lease agreement with the Devils to play their home games at the Prudential Center.

The Nets and Devils reached the agreement last week and it's expected to become official this week, according to the source.

"It's going to happen," said a source familiar with the negotiations.

Lets look at the short-term for the Nets...

- Jay Z is now being overshadowed by the Fedor Emelianenko of pro sports ownership.
- The move to Brooklyn is now even further away, meaning 2 more years in Northern NJ (sh*thole)
- They can't win games.

This isn't just bad team, a mis-managed team, or a team that needs to grow up...this is a TRAIN WRECK. Who is their right mind would want to move into this situation? You think Lebron wants to leave the ECF-contending Cavs and go townhouse shopping in f'ing Newark? Not gonna happen, matter of fact, the Nets fail to lure in any of the top 6 FA's this off-season.

What the Nets need to do in order to have a glimmer of hope for a good future:

Prokhorov needs to fire Kiki and Thorn once he takes over as the new owner.
Trade Devin Harris ASAP (especially if we get Wall).
Give D-Lee as much money as he wants to lure him here.
If D-Lee does not happen, insert Humphries into the starting 5.
Have T-Will play in a point-forward role.
Trade Courtney Lee back for Ryan Anderson (wishful thinking).

Now I'm even less likely to go to Nets games, and the Prudential Center is closer to me than the Izod Center.

Going to need a lot more than that to have any hope.

That's actually more than enough. We are not 4-45 bad, although I wouldn't mind us losing every game for the rest of the way if it gets Kiki and Thorn fired.

I think the best thing for the Nets at this point is for them to move to Brooklyn and for that Russian owner to fire everyone, but damn that dude has a ton of money so they could turn things around very nicely.
