Starts on Monday. Not many people really know much about the prospects since they're harder to track but still its a draft and a big deal. Rays have like 10 picks in the top 60. Gerrit Cole is the top prospect in the draft. Turned down a signing bonus with the Yankees a few years ago.

I'll at least follow the recaps of the rounds. I remember reading that someone I went to high school with could be late 1st/compensation pick.

Hoping we can get a guy like Jackie Bradley. Or maybe another polished pitcher like Deck McGuire.

Nervous as a Giants fan for this draft the Diamondbacks have two top 7 picks if I remember right and if they get Trevor Bauer from UCLA we might be in for some trouble down the road. Most MLB ready pitcher I've seen in a while. Even though the Giants need outfielders, Gary Brown last years pick has been tearing the minor league up this year and I feel like Jason Esposito from Vandy would be an excellent pick late first.

I've never followed the draft. Yankees are always picking in the late 1st/don't have a pick in the 1st

Was reading a thing in Sports Illustrated that said the top two D-Backs picks are likely to have more value than the Rays first 12 picks

Read that too, shows how you have to find diamonds in the rough in baseball more than any other sport

This draft has a wealth of pitching, so I see a lot of pitchers being selected in the 1st round. As for the Mets, I want them to draft an impact bat at the catcher or 2nd base position. We havent really had mainstay players at those specific positions and it would be great to see some solid productivity from those positions which we havent seen because they have always been defensive "specialists."

The Pirates rotation is going to be crazy soon.. Jameson Taillon, Stetson Allie and Gerrit Cole.. All 3 guys can hit 100 on the gun. Allie might transition into a closer though.

Kinda surprised the m's didn't take a position player.

Looks like Hultzen might be something special though.

Yea. Pretty big shock for this draft, but it is loaded with pitching and Felix might be gone soon.
