The Marlins will give serious thought to trading right-hander Ricky Nolasco this offseason, according to a source that spoke with the team's front office.

Florida has a need for starting pitching, but they have reached their limit with Nolasco.

He allowed seven runs on Sunday, his final start of the 2011 season.

Nolasco's ERA ballooned from 3.72 to 4.67 thanks to a season-ending, eight-start stretch in which he went 1-4 with an 8.18 ERA and 64 hits allowed in 44 innings.

"I can't figure him out," manager Jack McKeon said. "He's got too good a stuff to be a 10-12 pitcher. ... He better look in the mirror and see if he can make an adjustment or two. Evidently, the hitters are making adjustments to him."

When you're playing for the Marlins, where is the run support, and more importantly where is the motivation to win games? Nolasco started out strong, and ended bad. Is that just the evidence of a rough, losing season? That being said, if they do decide to deal him, what teams could you see being interested in acquiring him? And what kind of price tag would he have?

Thoughts?

They should trade him for Joe Maddon instead of going after Ozzie Gullien.
