Maybe I'm reading too far into this, but does anyone think that the Kings may have elected to not draft Mudiay knowing they'd be getting Russell in this trade?

I think it's more possible they drafted WCS because Boogie really wanted to play alongside him and they wanted to make him happy.

If I were the Kings I think I'd consider firing Karl and then trading Cousins for Russel, Randle, future picks and just start over.

The Lakers unprotected first next year would actually be a good pick if they could manage to get that included, because that Lakers team with Cousins is just as bad as this Kings one.

i heard Mudiay absolutely refused to work out with the Kings

Not uncommon. Jahlil didn't work out for the 76ers
