The Los Angeles Lakers have had a terribly disappointing start to the season, failing to meet universally high expectations following the acquisitions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.

"I'm still excited about this team," said Jim Buss. "Injuries have played such a huge part. I'm not frustrated at the players at all."
Buss is confident that the Lakers will retain Howard in the offseason.
"95 percent, we'll be able to keep him," said Buss.

Howard will be an unrestricted free agent.

if the lakers weren't sure of singing Howard to a extension, i dont think they would have traded for him. i think he is gonna stay.

I've always said, these guys leave their teams and say it's because they want to win, but wouldn't that make Dwight a hypocrite? I think we can all agree he isn't winning a ring with the Lakers.

His heart was set on Brooklyn.
I'm sure he likes LA, but Brooklyn is still his #1.

He likes living in LA, doesn't like playing for the Lakers.

He said he never wanted to play with Kobe before lol...

I wouldn't be surprised if he left. Not sure where he would go though

If he goes back to Orlando, would that be the biggest scumbag move in sports history?

ESPN would find a way to make him the biggest douche on the planet if he left LA after one year.

If Orlando actually got any good building blocks back in return it would be a smart move for Dwight basketball wise but they're still not a championship team if he goes back there.

With huge difference of LeBron actually winning a title for Miami, possibly more by the time he inevitability opts out.
