This is a discussion I was listening to earlier today on ESPN Radio, so I wanted to see yalls pov.

Basically what they were discussing is how Kentucky gets all these young stars. In 2009 it was Wall, Cousins, Orton, and Bledsoe. This season it was Knight, Jones, Lamb, and even Enes Kanter committed. Next season it's Anthony Davis, Michael Gilchrist, Marquis Teague, and Kyle Wiltjer.

Possibly all of those guys are one and dones. They're only a campus for a few months, then they're gone. The example they used was Kemba Walker at UCONN, being there for three years. They said with Kentucky, it's like a hookup and not a relationship with their players. They also talked about how this could hurt Kentucky's Championship opportunities, because they'll never have the experience.

What yall think?

I think the experience thing is a bit overblown, you don't need a ton of experience to win, if you have the talent, you have the talent.

And it's not really their fault that these guys are all one-and-done, they're just going out to get as many good players as possible. The whole reason these guys are one and done is because of how good they were in their time at their school.

And the reason Kemba stayed is because his draft stock wasn't that high after his first two seasons

Another reason they wont is because Calipari is a mediocre coach, but they'll always be in the running because he is the best recruiter in college.

That might be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Calipari is one of the most underrated X's and O's coaches in basketball.

He is constantly getting the most talent, and can't get the job done.. His offense is all isolation.

He runs an NBA offense, that doesn't mean he's a bad X's and O's coach. Besides, he's had two years at Kentucky and he's completely gotten that program back among the Top 5 in the country, and rejuvinated arguably the best fanbase in the nation. Elite 8 than Final 4, the ladder of which many considered unexpected without Kanter.

Plus, like someone said, they're just freshman for the most part. If he keeps Lamb this year and maybe Knight, that team is going to be the favorite to win a championship next year (them or UNC if everyone comes back there).

He could have gone to any program and got them to the top 5.. Those recruits are going to Kentucky for him, not the school. This year was definitely his best coaching job though, I'll give him that, he didn't have as much talent as usual.

Next year will obviously be a big year for him considering they're bringing in 3 top 10 or even top 5 recruits depending on how you look at them.

this.

2 years ago, Cousins and Wall said they were going to Memphis. Then they left right away to go to Kentucky, to be with Coach Cal

John Wall was never committed to Memphis, first of all. Second of all, what does that have to do with anything? Yes he is a great recruiter, but that doesn't mean he isn't also a great coach. You can have all the talent in the world but you gotta be able to do something with it.

CC is dropping knowledge right now. Cal is a good coach, and a great recruiter.

I don't think Wall was ever committed to Memphis.. :S

Either way, Cal I personally can't stand, but you can't deny the guy knows his basketball, either. And he's a premier coach in the game.

Coach Cal is a top 3 recruiter, but as a coach he is just above average.

Wall was never committed to Memphis though. It was Duke, Memphis, Baylor, and UNC as his top 4? Something like that.

It's kinda funny to imagine what the NCAA would be like if Cal never left Memphis. What would Kentucky be like?

If they didn't get Cal they would have gotten some other coach most likely. Gillepsie was already going to be fired either way.
