Former Rams and Panthers personnel man Tony Softli believes that Nevada QB Colin Kaepernick could sneak into the draft's first round.
"I like him," Softli said of Kaepernick. "He's a guy who can sit back there and really sling it. ... (Christian Ponder) and Kaepernick might flip-flop, with one of them going in the first round and the other in the second. Or there might be five quarterbacks go in the first round." We're also projecting at least four QBs to be selected in the top 32. Kaepernick is right on the cusp.

I still don't see them being taken in the first. I don't think teams would take them over some of the bigger name QBs in the first

Of course not. They're talking late first, teams trading up.
Which sucks for the Titans.

To late for Gabbert or Newton, and too late in the 2nd for Ponder or Kaep.

The supply and the demand of QBs in the NFL is the real driving force behind this. A lot of teams need the gun-slingers, and even in a pretty weak talent pool, they will still be taken higher than they should be.
