Pena (5-2), the first female winner of The Ultimate Fighter, suffered the injury on Monday while grappling in training, ultimately damaging, among other aspects, her ACL, MCL, LCL and meniscus. She is expected to undergo surgery next Thursday in Los Angeles.

holy hell. gotta be one of the worst knee injuries in all of sports, all time.

dana blames her gym for training her too hard. so far the exact details arent out but man..

she tore her hamstring too.

two years is a stretch imo. this sounds career ending. shes heavier-set too. not good at all.

Even if she did come back there's no way she'd be the same. She had some serious potential too, just really sucks.

Horrible news to hear. I honestly believed that Pena was the first female at 135 that had to cut weight to make it like Rousey, as well as the first with the ability to stop from getting judo tossed. I was interested in seeing her get a future title shot so from a fan perspective this injury is especially crappy in that regard.
