Houston Makes Two Deals

The Houston Rockets are involved in "high level" talks with the Atlanta Hawks on Josh Smith, according to a source.

The Rockets have enough cap space to sign Smith outright in the offseason.

The Hawks would want to acquire Omer Asik and Chandler Parsons in exchange for Smith, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. That level of trade package would be too for the Rockets to relinquish.

Smith would be a good fit for Houston. He's not all that great offensively (he doesn't rate off the charts in anything) but he's a solid pick and roll player and he would be able to cover up some defensive mistakes made on the perimeter.
