Someone explain to me why the Jazz are offering huge contract extensions.
Gordon Hayward and the Utah Jazz are expected to agree to an extension before the Oct. 31 deadline.
Hayward's deal is likely to be more lucrative than the four-year, $49 million extension teammate Derrick Favors signed last week.
Hayward has a lot of admirers in front offices around the NBA and would be a highly coveted restricted free agent target if a deal is not reached.

Close to that. Hayward doesn't get very much exposure in Utah, and wasn't featured as much as he should have been because of guys like Al Jefferson. He scored 14 pts a game last year in just 29 minutes, that's pretty damn good. He's not a guy who you can give the ball and let him go to work, but off the ball he's about as elite as a 22 year old can be.50 million good?
Not high usage percentages, but guys definitely get paid based off of what they could be.bosoxlover12 said:The New Age NBA: Where Guys With High Usage Percentages or High Potential Get Paid to the Max
This pretty much seems the standard now a days. Big contracts are too much, but it isn't a massive overpay.this is still a bit much for a guy who will never be more than a good glue guy.
i do like him but this is too much.
