Eagles' S Walter Thurmond Retires at 28

Apparently the Eagles had known that he'd been considering it for several months. It sure seems out of the blue to me.

I thought it was weird that nobody had signed him after he had a pretty good season last year.

I know that football is a tough sport to stay healthy in but is it just me or are more players retiring before they hit 30?

Definitely more guys retiring young, very noticeable (and understandable) trend
