Sitting near the bottom of the Eastern Conference at 23-31 on the season, the New York Knicks have decided to cut ties with head coach Derek Fisher, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

More to come.

rambis was named interim

luke walton and brian shaw are rumored to be the top favorites to become new coach

The fact that Shaw is even being considered is scary lol. That great Nuggets triangle offensive he had.

SEE YA, FISHER!!!!!

But if Shaw is the replacement that would really blow. Not sure what to think of Luke Walton.

Phil's tree sucks

Only Luke has had success.....maybe talent matters lol

Pop's tree is great tho

Teams should look at Ime Udoka...

A lotta Knicks fans want Thibs, but it won't happen because he doesn't run the Triangle. So they're getting their hopes up.

Kerr never coach under Jackson, and he certainly doesn't use the same coaching philosophies as Jackson, so I'm not sure why you would consider him apart of his "tree".

Any former player or assistant coach is considered a part of the tree

At least that's how everyone talks about it in basketball

Because Phil was about to sign Kerr before Golden State put up their offer, stealing him away.

Maybe it's different in college because you only have one coach (unless somebody gets fired). Like for instance, Bobby Hurley has never coached at Duke, but is still considered part of the Mike Krzyzewski coaching tree.

If you wanted to tell me it was different in the NBA, that's fine, but Mexi counted Walton on Jackson's tree, so I just went with it

Played more for Phil than Pop I think but I'll give it to you because he played a lot of time with both
