The Atlanta Falcons have reached an agreement in principle with the Oakland Raiders to trade cornerback DeAngelo Hall for the Raiders' second-round pick in the 2008 draft, pending the Raiders finalizing a contract with Hall, according to a source close to the Falcons.

Hall is close to agreeing to a contract with the Raiders that will pay him just below what Asante Samuel signed with the Eagles, according to the source. Samuel signed a six-year deal worth a reported $57 million, with $20 million guaranteed.

Hall is a former first-rounder taken with the eighth pick in the 2004 draft.

The Falcons have just been dumping all their high priced guys recently. I guess the rebuilding has officially begun.

Good move by ATL. He was a problem child...they needed to get rid of him, to help out the team, and re-building process.

I can name at least 10 corners better than him. I would rather have Lito Sheppard.

Oakland>Atlanta

Raiders are making some decent moves, this is another one of those.

Hall and Asomugha = new best set of corners in the NFL.

Javon Walker was one of the worst FA pickups in NFL history.

A nuts contract for a player who probably won't be healthy the entire year and is locker room poison.

agreed although there's only one way to stop it from happening, signing with the Pats

I still think this is a good move by ATL....I mean Hall is a trouble maker and has too much of an ego....he's like a defensive TO.

That's what I thought

but it still doesn't make up for the Crumpler releasing

I agree - but he had an off year, and I remember seeing something about him being a bad seed in the locker room
