Dan Gilbert’s son, Nick, has done it again. Two years ago, Dan send his son Nick and his bowtie to represent the Cleveland Cavaliers at the NBA Draft Lottery the year after LeBron left. And it worked. The Cavs won the #1 overall pick that year and took Kyrie Irving.
This year, same result, as the Cavs won the lottery again making it 2 of the last 3 years.
Here’s the full lottery list:
1. Cleveland Cavaliers
2. Orlando Magic
3. Washington Wizards
4. Charlotte Bobcats
5. Phoenix Suns
6. New Orleans Pelicans
7. Sacramento Kings
8. Detroit Pistons
9. Minnesota Timberwolves
10. Portland Trail Blazers
11. Phoenix Suns
12. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Houston, via Toronto)
13. Dallas Mavericks
14. Utah Jazz
However, the Cavs made trade that pick. I’d agree with that because I’m not in love with this draft. I’m not on the Nerlens Noel train (his ACL notwithstanding).
