Chris Mortensen is reporting on ESPN that Pete Carroll is putting a staff together and this is almost a foregone conclusion! He said at this point it would be shocking if it DIDN'T happen!

With all the possible NCAA violations maybe Carroll sees the writing on the wall.

I could see leaving USC with all of the scandals, but why for Seattle?

Anyway, USC is screwed.

This is great news for my Ducks and Seahawks. Carroll's out, Ducks are gonna continue to dominate the Pac-10. As for the Seahawks...well, Mora's gone lol and who knows he might do good, despite disappointing seasons in the past as an NFL head coach.

SEATTLE (AP)—Pete Carroll has reportedly agreed to leave Southern California after nine years to return to the NFL and coach the Seattle Seahawks.

ESPN cited multiple league sources Saturday, saying Carroll has reached an agreement with a team that went 5-11 and fired coach Jim Mora on Friday after one season. The Los Angeles Times has reported Carroll also will be team president.

The Seahawks also are speaking with Minnesota defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. Teams must interview minority candidates for head coaching jobs.

Carroll’s agent, Gary Uberstine, did not return calls and e-mails from The Associated Press. The Seahawks are not commenting.

Carroll coached the New York Jets and New England Patriots and had a 33-31 record

The Trojans dominance in the Pac-10 is officially over.

Pretty much. And ESPN is saying he's officially resigned from USC?
Pete Carroll has turned in his resignation to USC, the Los Angeles Daily News reported, apparently clearing the way for him to be named the new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.

USC sports information director Tim Tessalone said Sunday night that the school had nothing to announce.

Looks like it's happening then. I really think it's Oregon's turn to run the Pac-10 unfortunately. Hopefully we can steal some of those USC recruits tho. ;]
