“Alain, Rick and Newell worked tirelessly to lead this team to great on-ice success,” Canucks GM Mike Gillis said in a statement. “I am personally grateful to each of them and their families for their commitment to the Canucks and the city of Vancouver and wish them continued success in future.”

To be expected.  The Canucks peaked under their previous management and it was definitely time for a change.  Gillis warned "Big changes" were coming after the disappointing season & we're already underway.

I'm thinking Gillis is going to opt for a fresh face & new approach in his next hire; already hearing Dallas Eakins as the potential guy.  Eakins has spent the last four seasons as Toronto Marlies head guy.

Really hoping we keep Eakins. Best development coach in the AHL probably.

It is time for the Canucks to make changes. They had their run. The Sedins' prime is just about done, and there are a few bad contracts.

Dallas Eakins would actually be a good coach if they really want some change around the clubhouse. Wish MG would get fired after all his fuckups though.
