Maybe make the Calvin text blue?
I really like this, but I'd tone down the lighting a bit and possibly make the sig blue or black and white with some blue to fit the Lion's team colours.

I agree - gold text fits better - only thing that would appease the masses might be a block or drop shadow on it to separate from the BG more.. good job on the font change on "81", though
