I wish they could get Shaw but it would be extremely difficult

Fratello maybe?

Yeah sounds like Phil or dantoni

Thing is, Jim buss is in charge of things. He wants to be like Jerry Jones

Anyways, huge ego and doesn't get along with Phil. Its why he traded Odom Walton and Fisher who are Phil's guys and didn't want to keep Shaw who Kobe wanted.

He wanted to get rid of all things Phil.
But maybe they're over it?

Phil would make this team so dirty if they ran the same offense as 04

Shaq-Dwight
Malone-Pau
Fox-Artest
Kobe-Kobe
GP-Nash

hmmm forgot about this

listening to radio

there was talk about the lakers wanting Nate McMillan to replace Phil originally
Portland found out, they HATE the lakers, they extended him during Phil's last season

last year was a shock that Nate was even fired in the first year of his extension

another name

i dont think the lakers go with dantoni. phil coming back would be the ideal choice. sloan, or nate wouldnt be bad. nate or somehow shaw would be the perfect longterm option.

well sounds like Phil will be named coach soon. so much stuff floating around

guess Jerry Buss overruled Jim Buss on this.

The Los Angeles Lakers met with Phil Jackson on Saturday about their head coaching vacancy, but didn't reach agreement on a deal.

The Lakers intend to speak with Mike D'Antoni and Mike Dunleavyabout the position in the coming days.

Jackson, however, is considered the overwhelming favorite to become the team's next head coach.

Mike Dunleavy and Jim Buss met on Sunday for about 90 minutes to discuss the Los Angeles Lakers' head coaching vacancy, according to a source.

The meeting went well and Dunleavy will strongly be considered if Phil Jackson doesn't accept the position.

Dunleavy was head coach of the Lakers from 1990 until 1992 and was most recently with the Clippers.

LeBron James played under Mike Brown for several seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers and was surprised by his sudden firing as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers after a 1-4 start.[/background]

[background=rgb(244, 243, 238)]
"I think it's unfortunate," James said Friday. "I just don't think he got a fair shake, honestly. With the shortened season last year, and five games into this year, he didn't really get a full season."[/background]

[background=rgb(244, 243, 238)]
James was publicly silent about the fate of Brown after the Cavaliers were eliminated in the 2010 NBA Playoffs.[/background]

[background=rgb(244, 243, 238)]
"I've got a lot to say, but I'm not going to say it right now," said James. "I wish him the best, but I just think it's unfortunate and it's just, you know, how the league is. They can do what they want to do."[/background]
RealGM

It was a bit soon in my opinion as well, especially with the shakeup to the team this offseason.
