ESPN.com - The head of the BCS put the Fiesta Bowl on notice Wednesday: "Follow the letter of the law" or lose its place in college football's lucrative championship system, according to an ESPN.com report.

BCS officials challenged the Fiesta Bowl to persuade them that extravagant and improper spending behind the firing of longtime president and CEO John Junker will never happen again.

This gives the NCAA a reason to elevate the Cotton Bowl to BCS status. It will once again make the Cotton Bowl relevant, which is something they've wanted for years now.

This makes total sense. I like when the Cotton Bowl was actually a legit bowl game. We've seen some good games, but the quality can be so much more now.

Not to mention the Cotton Bowl is now in the new Cowboys stadium... it's a no brainer.
