Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha revealed that he's been playing both corner spots in training camp after being used strictly as a right cornerback over the past four seasons.
"I've been outside, both sides," he said. "... It gets me more involved." Added coach Tom Cable, "Some of it has to do with him maybe lining up on the best receiver type thing." The Raiders could become a more dangerous defense if Asomugha shadowed No. 1 wideouts. He's still one of the top shutdown corners in the game, and the strategy has proven effective with the Jets. This just makes more sense in my opinion. The dude is clearly talented enough to play on both sides of the field.
