I do keep responding to you so I think you finally hit upon something.

Can you provide any objective measure to your downplay of Eaton in 2016?

And you're acting like there are real baseball fans alive who watch 0 games and just look at number for fun to argue for no reason.
Watch 0 games ever, no. But form an opinion on a player without ever watching them play? Yes.

Why you're only looking at 2016 data is part of your problem

Harper's 2015 season was insane, and Eaton is nothing more than an average offensive player with great defense in his entire career.

Give me the guy who hit .330/42 two years ago over the guy with under 40 career HRs and good defense every day

No one is arguing that Eaton is better than Harper, but it can easily be argued he had the better year.

Could be worse, like voting Xander Bogaerts as the best SS in a baseball.

I'm pretty sure Brett is arguing that Eaton is just straight up better haha

ok, why you are including other years when the topic is 2016 is at least one of your problems.

Ding!

I'm not saying anything except who was better in 2016.  Future value is a totally different conversation.

I am sad as I loved Eaton.

That said, it's a great haul for a top 15 player.
I don't see the "last year only" qualification here, but I really don't feel like arguing about this anymore. Hopefully nobody actually thinks he's really a top 15 position player in baseball because that would just be dumb.

I would agree with this as well.

Convenient that you left out your post that I was replying to, but I am done with this as you are.

If I was a betting man, I'd have all these players ahead of Eaton heading into the year:

Trout
Betts
Donaldson
Bryant
Seager
Murphy
Machado
Harper
Arenado
Cano
Altuve
Beltre
Crawford
Lindor
Rizzo
Correa
Goldschmidt
Freeman
Miggy
Posey

That's 20. All positional players who are and will have better seasons than Eaton this upcoming season.
