As we come two months from the 2012 NFL Draft, I look back at the draft from 5 years ago, which is usually the prime time to evaluate draft selections. I will take the rank the best 16 players, and name some of the notable players who did not make it far in the NFL

BEST:
16. WR Sidney Rice (Drafted by MIN, currently on SEA)
15. RB Marshawn Lynch (Drafted by BUF, currently on SEA)
14. OT Joe Staley (Drafted and currently on CLE)
13. LB Paul Pozlusny (Drafted by BUF, currently on JAX)
12. OG Ben Grubbs (Drafted and currently on BAL)
11. C Ryan Kalil (Drafted and currently on CAR)
10. LB David Harris (Drafted and currently on NYJ)
09. LB Lawrence Timmons (Drafted and currently on PIT)
08. LB Lamarr Woodley (Drafted and currently on PIT)
07. WR Dwayne Bowe (Drafted by KC, currently free agent)
06. LB Jon Beason (Drafted and currently on CAR)
05. OT Joe Thomas (Drafted and currently on CLE)
04. LB Patrick Willis (Drafted and currently on SF)
03. CB Darelle Revis (Drafted and currently on NYJ)
02. RB Adrian Peterson (Drafted and currently on MIN)
01. WR Calvin Johnson (Drafted and currently on DET)

WORST:
QB Jamarcus Russell (1st overall pick). Enough said. Dude sucked badly.
DE Gaines Adams (4th overall pick). Dude unfortunately never lived up to his potential, and then in 2010 unfortunately died.
DT Justin Harrell (16th overall). Dude just wasnt good. Did not play in 2011.
QB Brady Quinn (22nd overall). Backup to a QB who cant complete 50% of his throws. LOL
OT Tony Ugoh (42nd overall). Dude was supposed to be the future LT for the Colts. Couldn't ever play LT. Or RT. Or football all that well. He's a backup tackle now that rarely ever plays, but at least he got a ring (current NY Giant)

others as well. Offer your imput as well, I probably forgot many other players

This draft had so much LB talent, Lewis, Beason, Harris, Woodley, Timmons, Poz

The top 5 guys all make the case of being the best at their position too, which is pretty incredible.

I thought I noted that part too. guess i forgot to add that back in, had it in my original version

Beason is considered a Top 2 OLB... and the rest are Top 2 at their positions as well
